I was looking on studentreview.com at Flagler College, and some of the negative reviews are REALLY AWFUL!
How valid is this site, anyway?
It’s really making me worried…for Florida Gulf Coast University, too. The reviews for Eckerd College as far as academics were pretty good.
So does anyone have any opinions about these colleges? And about the trustworthiness of studentreview.com?
Thanks.
FGCU is a good school. Its not as big and popular as the other state school but little by little it is growing. Don’t listen to the reviews because there just a few people and just because they had a bad time doesn’t mean you will.
Collegeweeklylive.com is a website where you can chat with representatives from the schools and ask them questions(on the given day they show up) It helped me feel a little bit better about my choices.
I’m no ivy league student and i attended an expensive university to say the least it sucked. So now I’m at a community college. I’m looking at other schools now and when I look at students reviews they all seem to suck. Now I begin to understand why so few Americans have degrees. It makes me want to give up too!
Well, I think it depends on what you are looking for in a college and your major, and the college’s location. I think that an education is worth the money if you are getting the skills and knowledge you need out of it. I would go to princeton review, especially the student body part, and see which colleges have the atmosphere that you are looking for and have the academics too.
Out of curiousity, which college sucked so much that was so expensive?, and what didn’t you like about it?
Regarding the student reviews, there are always people that don’t like their school environment. Liking a school and learning is an individual thing and is based on what you like and how you learn.
Determine what you want in a school atmosphere wise, academically, geographically, then see what schools offer that and would match your GPA and qualifications. Good luck!
I’m going to have them install my rain gutters but recently I was told by someone else they were going out of business (hence their name change to Orange County Rain Gutters). Now I’m a little scared to use them since I’m not exactly sure what’s true. Anyone know of this company or can give me some answers?
Call your Local Better Business Bureau ask if there are complaints against this company,
I would like to buy a pair of Nike Zoom Force 1 snowboarding boots and the only place I can buy them from is the Internet. (So I can’t try a pair since I can’t find one in Nike shops in my country.)
I’d be grateful if anyone would tell me what shoe model from Nike I should try on so I can get the right size for the snowboarding boots. Also, if anyone has the Zoom Force 1 snow. boot, I’d like ‘em to tell me how they feel, how’s the lacing… Thanks in advance!
I asked about nike shoes vs nike boots cause nike claimed that the boots you get should be the same size as nike shoes… "Cause they’re just that good."
I want them so much cause I heard only good things about them but the only place I can buy them from is the Internet…
I had 2 pairs of Burton boots until now. I want to change the brand. I agree with not trying them on first but I am pretty sure the site has a full refund/change size policy. Unfortunately, Nike stores that have snowboarding boots are very few, and I think that all of them are in the US (I’m in Europe.). I’m gonna pursuit, though, with the buying so thanks for your answers you guys. I’m still waiting for an answer about nike shoes size vs nike boots size.
You are going about this all wrong. You should never get boots because you heard about them.
Everyone’s feet are shaped differently and what works for one person doesnt work for another.
The boots are the most important part of your gear and you should make sure the pair you get a super comfy for you. Never buy boots without trying them on in the store first. When I got my boots, I spent over an hour trying on different pairs at the store. Then I wore my top 2 selections on each foot to compare which one was better and then walked around the store in that pair for 10 mins. I also went a little overboard in that when I got home, I wore the pair for a few hours and just did my thing around the house to make sure I dont get any cramps or anything. Unless you can return the boots for a full refund, you should not buy them online.
You can check out Nike’s website and they will show you retailers near you that carry their products and then you can call them to see if they have them in stock. If not, then you are stuck with the online option, which I would strongly recommend against since you havent tried them on first.
In my opinion Burton makes the best boots. I have tried on many different companies like vans, 32, dc, Salomon, but none of them fit me as good as the burtons. The burton rulers are the only ones that work for me. Even though they are only their mid range boots. I tried the high end ions but they werent as comfy as the rulers. I just got my 3rd pair of rulers in the last 6 years after putting over a 100 days on the first 2 pairs.
You should really check out the Burton Emeralds, supreme or Q boots for women. they are really comfy and speedzone lacing means you can tighten uppper and lower zone to individual levels in under 2 seconds. Pull and then you are done.
My boots are so comfy that when I do daytrips and am not driving, I will just wear them when we start our trip to the mountain which is 4 hours away which means I prolly have them on for about 16 hours a day and there is no problem. But that is my opinion. Go with what feels good for you, but try it on first before you buy it.
I’ve got an Olympus Camedia D-535 Zoom, which I’ve had since the spring of 2005, and which, for the last several months, won’t zoom while in photo-taking mode.
The zoom button works fine (you can zoom in on photos in review mode) but if you try to zoom in the photo-taking mode, the camera shuts off.
Sounds like there is a problem with the Zoom motor on your camera. You can send it in to be fixed, but that will often cost as much if not more than a newer better camera today.
So my advice would be to replace the camera. Maybe use that as the reason to get yourself a new one for the holidays.
Good Luck and Happy Shooting
Hii,
im thinking of repeating my leaving cert in the institute of education and would like to know what its like there?? is it good academically?? is it good socially?? where are the best place to get accommodation that’s near to the institute??
it would be greatly appreciated if people you have been there or just know about the place give me some idea whats it like tanx
xxxx
Its very expensive to go there its around seven and half grand. The teachers do give you a lot of notes and tell you whats coming up on the lc but its never a hundred percent. There aren’t any clubs or groups to join, basicly no sports clubs or anything like that. Theres no accomodation provided by the institue so you’d have to find your own place to stay. I know it has a good reputation but there is over 400 people just in 6th year so there is 2 lot of students and only about 5 students get 600 points! Hope this gives you a better idea.
Is there a website like Goodreads.com or readernaut.com, except for movies? I tend to watch a lot of movies and would just like a place to store all my reviews and star ratings.
Of course you can…there’s WWW.IMDB.COM or you can go visit WWW.ROTTENTOMATOES.COM. Not only can you review movies and write your own reviews, you can also rate the movies or check the ratings given on the movies by other users. You can also search for a movie depending on the cast, time of release, genres etc.
I applied for one of the national crews, and its been over a month already since i submitted my application. About how long does it take for them to review and place the applicants? Just curious =D
The placement staff for high school National Conservation Crews are reviewing applications now. If you are sure that SCA has received all of the required forms, both electronic and paper, it would be worthwhile to email them directly about your application. Go to thesca.org/national-crews and click on the Application and Placement link on the menu in the right-hand column to find their direct email address. Best of luck this summer!
Where can I find reviews and opinions online for Encyclopedia Britannica 2009 Student & Home Edition
Customers on Amazon are essentially split. Negatives include installation difficulties, rebate problems, and the fact that you need to provide a credit card for the free year subscription to the Encyclopedia Britannica. Which means it will automatically bill you after the first year, unless you cancel. Positives include the vast amount of information, and the fact that it’s geared towards students.

This is my opinion, but whenever comparing something like this product to online services like Google, it is very important to remember that much of the information available online is not verified, and in many cases is wrong. This is especially important for students, because teachers prefer to see valid citations.
On either side of the scale, whether a person reviews them highly..
..or if the student reviews the professor with ‘below mediocre’ the entire way through..
Does it really make any difference? What are the consequences to the professor, if any?
Yes it matters. They are used for the professor’s promotion of tenure track.
Unless that professor you graded below mediocre is already a full professor, your reviews matter.
