I was thinking about getting a Sony explod cdx gt710. Until I heard just some consumer reviews. I still want it for my 03′Sebring LX
sony head units regular speakers are fine. they are as good as anything else in the same price range. their subwoofers and the bigger amplifiers are what gives sony car audio a bad reputation.

I didn’t know a radio could sound so good til I got the Sony explod, and neither did my friends, now they all have one. best money I ever spend period.

I just redid my entire car with a new system. There isnt anything wrong with some of Sony’s speakers, they are just not the best. I have to 6 by 9 Xplod speakers in the back and they sound amazing, nice and loud and have lasted a while. To be honest those two speakers are the only two of the 6 in my car im not replacing.
As for the main system I personally wouldnt go with Sony unless your on a budget. Go with Pioneer or another company that specalizes in car audio. I have a Pioneer that runs subs, 6 speakers (mids and tweets) and 2 amps.
Just realize that if you go cheap there is actually a reason why those speakers are cheap. At least go with namebrand, pioneer, sony, kicker, etc…if you stay with them your good to go. Also hope your not shopping at walmart for them lol, the sony ones there do indeed suck. Id go to bestbuy, listen to them, and buy what you like. In the end it doesnt matter what I say or the reviews say, its your car, if your impressed with them then its a good buy.

Sony speakers are underpowered and poor quality.
Get MTX or Polk or Kicker(depends on how much you can spend)
However a head unit by Sony can be used without problems.

sony decks hav a lil less rms power, but thats y u should amp ur speakers anyway, sony sounds great and they hav some decks with front rear and sub, rca’s. and for there speakers, there not bad, my alpine speakers are louder but they distort before my sonys when turning up the volume, i dont like there subs tho, they just arnt clear enough for me

Sony is not regarded as being one of the best brands when it comes to audio. Never has. Now when it comes to video they are definitely topnotch.
