What is the best Hybrid car in the market right now?

Posted by admin on September 20th, 2009 and filed under auto reviews | 1 Comment »

I ask because I’m planning to buy one. I just can’t decide which one to get. I looked up the reviews on all the hybrid cars (Yahoo Auto) but still can’t make up my mind. I just want something within $20-25K price range. Thank you.

Hi,

there is no easy answer to this without getting more information on what your needs and wants are.

My recommendation is to draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper and put your needs on one side and your wants on the other.

Put this list away for a few days and look at it again after a week to see if your answers have changed.

Then see which vehicles are on that short list.

If you are only looking to buy new, your choices are limited to the Toyota Prius, the Honda Civic Hybrid, or possibly the Ford Escape Hybrid on the upper end of your range.

Consider those hybrids in that order- Prius, Civic, and on from there.

There are other mild hybrids out there that might possibly fall in your range, but at that point consider the standard model (like the Saturn Vue Green Line).

Good luck.

What is your opinion of camera Kodak Easyshare Z-950? Any camera reviews wep?

Hello
I would like to buy a wide range specifications ,high quality ,maual and auto ,compact camera for both (photos and video) . I made a wide search then i found Kodak Easyshare Z-950 has the better choice that i need .I need any ideas about it or any camera reviews web with my regards.

The problem is that it’s made by Kodak, therefore there is an excellent possibility that it will be junk. Kodak makes lots of fantastic claims about their cameras that rarely prove to be true.

Auto Insurance point assigned unfairly.?

Posted by admin on September 16th, 2009 and filed under auto reviews | 7 Comments »

After reviewing my Auto Insurance for the past year (it’s time to renew) I noticed that my premiums had increased from one 6 month period to the next. After calling the company I was told that I had been assigned a point for what they are calling an accident. The so called accident they are referring to is about 8 months ago I had a tire blow out (days after I got them) from either something on the road or from clipping a curb. Since I had just bought my tires I was a little upset so I called my insurance company to see if flat tires were covered under my policy. They answered my inquiry by reminding me that I had a $500 deductible and so I eagerly made the decision to just replace the tire myself and do nothing to file a claim. The company (GEICO btw) then decided that this counts as an accident and gave me a point on my insurance (for three years) and thus increased my rates. Does anyone know if this is leagal and what I can do to dispute and rectify this sitution?

ANY TIME report an incident to your insurance company by law they are required to open a claim. Whether they pay out or not isn’t the point. (The law is this way b/c someone at some point in time screwed up somehow and this is the result of that.) At the same time, they are required to investigate the loss no matter how major or minor it is before assigning fault. But blown tires are generally a comp claim unless it blew due to collision (like hitting a curb) OR it blew and you hit something else (like a wall).

You should call Geico claims and find out their theory of liability and if they change it in their system you must ask for a letter of experience. Even though it’s changed in their system it will still show on ou CLUE report as at fault and the letter of experience is all you will have to prove you were not at fault.

problems with nationwide auto?

Can I ask people who have had bad experiences with nationwide auto for feedback on this site and, have you or will you contact trading standards, some of the reviews on other sites are quite bad.

I have no personal experience, just another site which shows them to be near the bottom of the rankings.

Jeremy Clarkson reviews the Porsche 968 shortly before its launch on to the market in 1992. A look back at what made it great and not so great, including a dig at the 80’s. This was when Top Gear really was Top Gear, i.e. rubbish! ;)

Has anyone tried using The Auto Cool Solar Car Fan – supposed to keep the inside of ur car cooler?

Posted by admin on September 14th, 2009 and filed under auto reviews | 5 Comments »

my daughter saw this on TV and wants one. I usually do a search on stuff before I buy, but can’t really find any good reviews on this product. Anyone out there got one – does it work?
well . . . i did just find this review on the little fan – it was done by a news station and has a video of their "test", as well as the results written up:

http://cbs13.com/seenon/local_story_175014927.html

: ( on the results

I can’t see it working at all. If you look at the way the fan turns, it’s not scooping the air as it goes around. I held a lit cigarette to both of my parents units and no smoke appeared to go through either of the units.Of course, I could be wrong. Just my thought of how similar things work (ie: the blower wheel on a dryer which forces the air out the exhaust)

Interesting interview.

Cheap auto insurance, could this be possible?

Posted by admin on September 11th, 2009 and filed under auto reviews | 1 Comment »

Today I called several local auto insurance companies because I need insurance for my Taurus and I found some ok rates, how ever after doing a Google search I found a site called Auto Insurance Monster (www.AutoInsuranceMonster.com) and they had some reviews for several auto insurance companies.

After reading some of the articles I decided to get a quote from one of the insurance companies listed there.

After getting my quote I found that the rate was 17% lower than my local insurance company.

Are these rates real? could they be scams, the companies listed are always on tv and they have very professional websites, but I just can not believe the rates I found on Auto Insurance Monster.

Should I stay with my local insurer or go with the online services?

Of course it’s possible that the rates could be lower. Things to watch: the rating of the insurance carrier, are the limits they are offering the same as what you have?, are they Excluding any coverages you had before. There is always a better deal out there but you must pay close attention to what you are buying
