Damaging reviews that have had adverse results..ex-disgruntled employees…competitors? How long before Yahoo pulls this off…Have you asked to be taken off Yahoo Local or have those bogus review reviewed or removed?? How do you fight an out of control system that claims to want to help you when all they do is hurt you by letting people use false names to make false claims…
Unfortunately virtually all online product and service reviews are to be taken with just a grain of salt. Most are bogus, as they are written by those who have a vested interest in either praising or discrediting a particular product or service, or else are written by those who have nothing better to do with their time than play games…often never seeing, let alone using the product or service that they are reviewing. Sadly however, such reckless performance has in many cases ruined a good product, while in other cases, has promoted scams to look like they were in fact honest business ventures.
Nonetheless, review sites will not normally remove any reviews posted on their sites, unless those reviews somehow violate their own terms of service, such as containing vulgarity, personal threats, etc.
.
We have asked our customers to review our site and after directing them to Sitejabber where the reviews were successfully posted, they now been removed. Furthermore you can post any fake review about any company you would like on their website and they will do absolutely nothing to remove the review no matter how much evidence is provided to prove the review is fake. Sitejabber employs a double standard bias review model which is bad for online businesses. Businesses are not allowed to induce reviews (How else do you get clients to review you?) Businesses cannot fight back. Ultimately Sitejabber is more interested in pleasing their review community then they are into making sure that general business fair practice policies are followed. Business Beware!
They will protect consumers, they are not interested in protecting businesses. This is bad for online businesses which get reviewed unfairly. Other independent review sites will consider removing a review if it violates their terms and conditions so if a review is fake and it is proven they will remove it, this adds balance in the equation, Sitejabber.com on the other hand has this to say about this:
"As a consequence, we receive a lot of understandably angry emails from the owners of websites saying, “These bad reviews are untrue,” “Someone is just out to get me,” and so on, asking us to remove the negative reviews. And some of these website owners may be right, but, despite that, it is our policy not to remove reviews because we strongly believe in the long run, everyone is better off if these views are heard."
Fair? I don’t think so. The reality of the matter is that they do not have enough manpower to investigate all these emails from angry business owners and this is the real reason they do not remove any reviews, it has absolutely nothing to do with what they believe in, that’s garbage.
There is nothing fair and unbiased about Sitejabber. find another review site!
just have heard of other pyramids before that failed. just wondering if anyone out there has done this one?
They are yet another scam.
I can’t believe there are people who fall for this stuff.
All of the reviews are positive. The website has a very large inventory and very good pricing. How can it be that so few people have written reviews? I would like to purchase all of tbe fixtures for a bathroom renovation but I am concerned.
Shopping online is a risk.
Some general rules to go by.
has a friend shopped there? most likely not.
Do they have a phone number and address listed?
call them and be sure they sound like a company and they do actually answer the phone in-case of any future problems.
when you do call pretend to be interested in the company and ask who the owner is.
you can check reviews but you have already.
do a google map search and see the street view (see if they are really there)
then see if there state has a better business bureau and if the company is a company
yp.com yellow pages, if a true company then they are listed in that state.
after a few precautions its still a risk because even companies rip people off. so your always taking a chance online. but once i have checked them out and feel comfortable i take a chance but not with my credit card. i use a prepaid debit card so i cant loose more money than i have loaded onto the card.
only make a small purchase with them, after you receive it and everything went smooth my trust builds a little
i have been searching for harvard business reviews softcopies from 2006, how can i get them
Of course you can ACCESS them for FREE at a Library that subscribes to HBR, FYI-
I own a very respectable business in Genesee County, Michigan. What action can a business take against false or unfair reviews?
On the Internet, your business is vulnerable by what others are saying about you. Your business’ reputation can be damaged by negative online reviews written by angry former employees, competitors or disappointed customers.
Internet reputation has become an important factor in influencing customer perception. User generated feedback, such as online business reviews, can jeopardize your business’ ability to earn customers from the Internet.
Its named something like Craigslist, but of course, not craigslist, hehe. Think its like a girls name. But they take customer reviews of business’ and give you a list of the best people to use in your area. Thanks for any answers =P
The best place is the Better Business Bureau, just type BBB and check it out.
I looked on the bbb but nothing was found. I think this is a site from the UK. Thank u!
There are two sites I research on to answer this sort of question.
One is mywot.com. The other is whois.com.
According to mywot.com, uggbootsukmall.com has a poor reputation and based on that alone I would avoid them.
On whois.com you can find out where the domain is registered. Ones from China are especially risky as there is a good chance of getting counterfeit goods or being the victim of some other scam. In this case it is registered in Bellevue, WA but I still wouldn’t trust it.
And having "uk" in the domain name makes them even seem more deceptive to me.
If you are paying for a business ad, you will be able to login and see a statistics page on the times your ads been reviewed etc.. If you are doing a free ad, most likely no.
