Does Westwood College have a good game design program?
I am in the process of applying for Westwood College for a BA in game design. I have read several reviews, and I know all about their controversy and lawsuits. However, reviewers for their game design program seemed to give better review than the rest, and their free re-training for alumni is certainly a very valuable asset.
Thanks for your question and interest in Westwood College! I wanted to pass on some links that might be helpful. These are real graduates who wanted to share their experiences and stories about Westwood. You can also check out our gaming site for more information about the program.

As for our accreditation, @CAT is incorrect. Westwood College is accredited by two separate national accreditation agencies: ACCSC (Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges) and ACICS (Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools). Because our accreditation is fully recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, students have access to federal grants and loans. Nationally accredited schools are required to meet and maintain rigorous standards of educational excellence and quality assurance. high level design review document?
What about it?
Help juggling: review, 3d modeling, website design or writing & reading?
hi there, i have lots of things to do in my life. just graduated this year, and this mere enthusiasm of mine muddles in my mind: it seems i am overwhelmed. i do not know/sure which to prioritize.
just started my reading regimen and i found myself fond of books: pdf, a handy book and audible; all of which i handle at a time. as a matter of fact, i have a long queue of pdf books in my pc, all phenomenal.
late highschool when i started learning web design (with superficial programming), a thing i do not want to abandon, but it appears this skill of mine is becoming stale, have to catch up since i have been gone for a long time (2 years).
in the near future, i have to take up the board exam to earn my license. obviously, i have to review religiously; i do not have the tenacity to take the exam without going back to my previous lessons.
lastly, 3d expertise is required on finding a job; most firms look after it. this means i have to revive this skill. it has been quite a long time since my last modeling and rendering.
every time i am overwhelmed, i can not help myself to procrastinate (if not, results are mediocre, due to lost of focus.)
- Career expertise should probably be your priority
What are the best Graphic Design & Photography schools?
I’m an international looking to study in Photography (and or Graphic Design) in London, and we’re going to be going on visits this coming June. The two schools that I’ve found that look interesting are The Royal Academy of Art & The University of the Arts, London.
Could anyone let me know about any other intense Art schools? I’m looking for a strong photography program and a strong design program.
Your personal reviews really help! Thank you
Hello,
I’ve studied Graphic Design in London and I can tell you that The University of the Arts, London is the best choice, I think you should also try to send an e-mail to UAL asking for intensive summer programs or similar.
Hope it helps,
Best Regards
Design homework, need review, thanks!?

very nice swiss design… i like the colors first off.. i think they go well together. and i like the overall design. maybe try pushing down the entire design element even farther from the top to give it more of an asymmetrical feel.. give it a certain tension.
also.. i’m not sure that i like the body copy… I don’t think i like the rag text… if it were perhaps hard justified or box justified… give it a cleaner look.. and try the font "century gothic" regular.. i think it would look good as the body copy… just a thought…
but overall i think it’s quite nice!
graphic design homework, please review?

I’d put the "G" logo on top as opposed to right next to the other "G"

A couple thoughts…
Are you’re trying to make the poster look old with the grain texture you’ve added? If so, you should probably use a more sophisticated methods to get a more successful result. Like scanning an old piece of paper and creating your own texture from it, or finding an online resource with old paper textures. The grain is distracting and looks very fake.
I’m not sure why you’re using Futura for a poster celebrating Swiss design. I noticed from your description that Swiss design is very important for you. Maybe you should use Helvetica… or if that’s too "ordinary" you should use Akzidenz Grotesque. Swiss magazines from the 1960s used Akzidenz, and most Swiss posters used it as well. Futura was designed in the 1920s and is a geometric sans-serif. It was not heavily used by the Swiss.
I’m confused with the illustration. I don’t know how it related to the Swiss designers. Swiss designers like Josef Muller-Brockmann used illustrations that were directly influenced by subject that their posters were about. They were abstract but still referential of the poster’s subject, like his symphony posters. It’s also slightly awkward because the "see through" parts of the strokes on the boxes allow you to see the color of the box below them, which destroys the 3D effect.
Hope that helps!
Please review my design?

Overall, I like it.
But there are few things I don’t like – "Graphic" and "Design" have different cut off points – "Design" is sliced in the middle while "Graphic" is about 2/3 up. This makes them look disjointed and a little bit squashed which doesn’t work with your widely kerned font.
Your margins are messy. I am hoping this is not for print because you have allowed NO room for bleed so big chunks of your design would be cut off. Also the G in "Graphic" is away from the border while the C touches it. These should have the same margin widths, or a big enough difference that it doesn’t look like a mistake.
You have that great big wall of text at the bottom. Not nice. It needs to be off the margin a bit more because right now it is squashed right to the edge and is hard to read. A different text layout would probably also work better. Maybe multiple, thin columns?
I like the way you have done the center text, especially how it looks like a cutout with it being the same color as the background. The white "translated to english" text unbalances it a bit and I think it would look better with "Translated to English: What is graphic design" right aligned over the orange shape and "what makes it unique" over the short side of the reddish one.
