How to write an Article Review?

I’ve got an assignment in for next week and I’ve got to write an article review. The contents about the origins of World War I, but that’s not really relevant.

I’m at Uni so i’ve never had to write one before – is it just like writing a Document Analysis or do i just write an essay? What sort of things should i be picking out? I’ve read it through (14 pages long!) and wirtten notes on it, its just a case of getting started.

The history of international relations in the late 19th and early 20th twentieth centuries has been inextricably bound with the origins of the First World War. The sheer scale of the war has led generations of academics to endow it with a sense of inevitability. However, we should pause briefly and consider some of the following observations and questions. If the international system was so militarised, why did a general European war not break out much earlier? After all, the 44 years of great power peace between 1871 and 1914 was the longest period of great power peace in Europe until the end of the Cold War. Why were so many crises, recited by generations of students as signs of weakness in the international system, resolved without recourse to war? Historians have, until very recently, largely ignored an alternative question: ‘Why was peace maintained for over four decades?’ Only by answering this question can we fully appreciate why war broke out in 1914. We should no longer view those like Stefan Zweig, the Austrian novelist, who saw the world before 1914 as a ‘golden age of security’, as complacent or naïve. Asking why great power peace was maintained for over four decades enables us to re-assess what might be called the ‘old reliables’ of the origins of the First World War – the alliances and diplomacy, imperial expansion, public opinion, the role of the military, and the international economy.

Request a Document from your Employer?

If my mother signed a document at work to become successfully employed, can she request the same document to review it at a later time? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

I don’t know that they have to produce the document. If their is a lawsuit involved the court can order the company to turn it over. Other than that she may be out of luck.

Unless she works for the government if so anybody can request it under the freedom of info act but that is only for government workers.

What documents do i really need for my Initial background review for the LAPD?

I have one month left to get ready for my Initial Background Review for the LAPD does anyone know what documents I really need to have with me on that day and what documents i can exempt. I have no clue what type of questions i will be asked but what i do know is that i have to be honest in every question. It would be of much help for me if someone can provide me with this information.

drivers license, social security card and birth certificate. plus an accurate list of any and all employer’s or schools and residence address’s for the past 7-10 years.

any attorneys willing to review my writing sample for summer associate positions?

I am in the process of sending out writing sample (open research memos) to employers and my professor is unable to review the document due to grading reasons, i was wondering if there was an attorney out there that would be willing to take out a few extra minutes to critic my writing sample. Just based on your grammar and punctuation in this post, I’m going to hope your writing sample is much better. If you are that far along in your career to work as a summer associate, you should know how the process works.

Can you print a document in Word 2007 with Spelling & Grammatical errors still intact; for review purposes?

i.e. show the red and green squiggly underlines in the correct position on the printed document?

I don’t think you can, but why don’t you just underline the errors yourself with microsoft word.

What is the main summary of The Changing Lives Document?

I am reading The Changing Lives Document. A report from the 21st Century Social Work Review. I am reading this document but nothing seems to be sinking in. I have even tried reading the summary report which is still long at 32 pages. Can anyone help me out and give me the main point of this document so I can understand the point of it?

No — government documents would not be considered a peer-reviewed source (it really is considered its own type of source).

Peer-reviewed sources generally refer to articles in scientific/scholarly journals, specifically those journals that have a process where manuscripts are reviewed and evaluated before they are allowed into the publication. Examples you might know of, considering you cited a State Department publication, include International Organization, American Political Science Review, or Journal of Conflict Resolution.

Will the squiggly line on the document disappear for others when they open it?

I am applying for several internships. On the last thing I mention on my resume, a green squiggly line appears and when I right click it, it just says "Fragment, consider revising" and no matter what I do, it still stays green. Finally, I just right clicked and ignored it. When the people reviewing my application open up the document (I emailed it as instructed) will it show as a fragment?

Yes it will disappear. it appears only so that you can check and revise it. Once you print it, it will no longer be visible.
Rest assured, none of those squiggly lines will catch the eye of anyone!
