Can I use The Princeton Review guides to study for a course I’m taking next year?

Posted by admin on August 3rd, 2010 and filed under review guide | 1 Comment »

I’m studying for AP world and with this textbook I’ve only gotten as far as ~1000AD. I need a faster and more efficient way to study than this, and I thought maybe the AP exam guides could help.

I’m concerned about PASSING this course because of my extracurricular activities gnawing the study time I would need for a first timer. Does this book contain the vital info to study the course?

Thanks!

Hello,

I READ my HUGE AP world history book, throughout the year. The teacher breaks it down into digestable parts– if you can’t do the readings, drop the class. (You’ll have to grow up and do readings in college anyways, may as well get used to it now). Every single person in my class (but me) was like you, and didn’t read it. They tried using princeton review– they got mostly 1s and a couple 2s. I love Princeton Review, but I also READ the book. I got a 4.

This years’ class tried to pull off the same thing (the ones who took AP world)… they all failed the exam.

That year I ran track, volunteered at my local boys and girls club, and also was a part of a teen court system which involved me taking on real trials in which I had to defend or prosecute… tell me I didn’t have extracurriculars.

Which is a better study guide for the SAT? Collegeboard or Princeton Review?

Posted by admin on June 5th, 2010 and filed under review guide | 2 Comments »

Hi, I was wonder which study guide is better for preparing for the SAT? The Princeton Review Cracking the SAT or the Collegeboard Official SAT study guide?

Thanks!

The College Board Official SAT Study Guide is the only publication that has real SAT tests. It is published by the test maker and they have included 10 previously administered SATs in the book. So when it comes to practice tests I would suggest sticking with The Official SAT Study Guide because any other book that has practice tests included have simulated tests. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Is the Princeton Review guide for AP chemistry a good way to prepare for the AP chemistry exam?

Posted by admin on May 24th, 2010 and filed under review guide | 2 Comments »

So here is the problem. I just took a practice multiple choice test from the AP chemistry exam from 1994, and i got a 3.
However, whenever i do the Questions in the princeton review, I get almost all of them right. I got the sense that the questions from the 1994 exam were sort of different from the ones in the princeton review.
So for the upcoming AP chemistry exam this tuesday, should i study more from the Princeton review or old AP tests? TO people that have taken the more recent AP chemistry exams from like 2004 and onward: Are the princeton review practice tests better preparation for this upcoming exam or are the old AP chemistry exams from like 1980 better practice?

Princeton review is okay, but Barrons makes the best study guide for all the AP tests, period. Their tests are 2x harder than the actual test, but it prepares you so well for them. After you do well on the Barrons tests and you take the actual AP test, you have a huge relief when the problems are wayyy easier.

AP US History Review Guide?

Posted by admin on May 7th, 2010 and filed under review guide | 3 Comments »

I will be taking the AP US History Exam a week from today and I am looking to do a comprehensive review before the exam, but there are so many out there it has become overwhelming. I was wondering if any past students, teachers, whomever have a website/book/"study-guide" that they would recommend?
Thanks so much : )

personally I think it’s too late now to go out and buy a book…it’s not worth it.
try this site: http://www.historyteacher.net/USQuizMainPage.htm
there’s a bunch of practice tests you can use
Also just google “apush review” and..there you go
Good luck on your ap!! I’m taking it too…><

Where can I find review questions or a study guide for the Intelligent Investor?

Posted by admin on May 5th, 2010 and filed under review guide | 1 Comment »

I’m reading the Intelligent Investor by Ben Graham and wanted to find a study guide, a test on it, or review questions to practice the material I’ve learned. Where can I find this? Thanks

I am not sure there is one in the commercial market. If this is a book that is required in class, perhaps an instructor created one for the students.

Is the Farmville secrets guide really that good? What’s ur Review?

Posted by admin on April 16th, 2010 and filed under review guide | 4 Comments »

My friend got hold of the farmville secrets guide and said it was that good. I want to buy it but I’m not sure it’ll give me any good insight into the game’s strategies. Has anyone else used this guide before?

In my opinion, this is not the perfect farmville guide but then again there is non out there. This is a very well written guide that really illustrates some of the best kept secrets of the game on facebook. It brings you very easy and simple to follow guides on how you can play the game better and faster. Some of the tips in there are tips you cannot really easily find anywhere else on the net. You’ll be surprised by what you don’t really know about the game. And for those interested, you can get it from the website listed in my source.

Criminal justice law enforcement academy review guide?

I’m going to the police academy soon, can someone with experience tell me how to prepare?

Your number one concern should be to get prepared physically. Most students under estimate the demands of the physical training program and arrived on the first day of the police academy out of shape. Other things you can do is download a police academy preparation guide at
