What happens if you miss a review/JSA sign on but phone in?

Do they stop your claim? say for instance you had a review and had to sign on that day but called in saying you couldnt come because you had to be with your Mother who is ill and accompany her to the Doctor but can come in later.. Would that be ok?

thanks

They just give you another appointment day, sometimes the next day – or more often they will simply say ‘OK, just come in on your next due day’

HOWEVER if you miss your normal signing day WITHOUT TELLING THEM IN ADVANCE your payment may be ’stopped’ until you DO tell them .. (even if you ring the next day your payment can still be late)

They are normally quite reasonable if you keep them informed. If you ring to cancel or defer an appointment they will tell you on the telephone whether or not your excuse is valid.
